Alexandra Belle

The honest art critics have thankless, hard work, since the better painting, the less you can tell about it in words. If about early paintings by Sasha Belle was possible explain in words (well, gloomy game, what an unhappy Paul Klee, pale and sleepy, broke, in addition very women), now what do you say? Very good pictures. And what good pictures are different from the bad? Absolutely anything good pictures that can be expressed in words, they do not differ, here we should look and feel.

At once painting by Belle so aristocratic that resists consideration (especially reproducing): there are black impenetrable, glares, painted something strange. True, is painted something artless: plum tree, a bus stop. Flower. TV tower. These simple pour things are incredibly significant, as, however and the blackness of paintings: black color, all covered - is the sum of all colors, the potential sweep in any color. (Sometimes the blackness weakens, bright flashes, some red, the color - is, as in my painting, sign of pain and anxiety. Aggression, inflammation, removal of the royal black).

Not so easy to pour a small canvas with black paint so as to make it own space, convincing reflection of the world. Difficult to the painting while steadily improving, because many great artists it is likely to deteriorate as if squandered, with each picture. And to each new painting to strengthen artists - so was usual among the great masters of old times, now prized young artists with the drive.

Sasha is not modern at all, she in a sign of resistance to modernity wanted to name the exhibition "Not a project". I wonder, would call it?
